WOMEN'S CHARITY CHALLENGE

THE STORY CONTINUES 

The story began with the simple goal of creating fun golf events for women and raising money for local charities. It seemed like a great idea! Come together to support organizations that make a difference in our community and have fun doing it.  This simple goal has grown into $7,500  being raised for charity  in two  years and checks being written to the Ronald McDonald House, Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, YWCA - Domestic Violence Program, and to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research and Hug-a-bear of Kent County.

Each event held at the course has told a story of a successful and influential woman. Strong women who made a difference in their time.  In 2008 we honored Clara Barton, Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony, and Marie Curie. In 2009 we featured Georgia O'Keefe, Amelia Earhart, Julia Child, Abigail Adams and Babe Zaharias.  Truly extrodinary women who went out and wrote their own story and made an impact in the world they lived in.

Our story continues in 2010 and we need you to help write it.  We still have the simple goal of raising money for charity while having fun on the golf course but simple can become powerful when it is supported by so many of our golfers.  The 2010 schedule is listed below and there will be five events this year.  Scott Lake is pleased to once again host and contribute to this growing tale by challenging our golfers to raise $2,000 on their own and we will match those contributions up to $2,000.

Women's Charity Challenge Check

The entry fee for each event will be $47 and will include a contribution towards four Charity Challenge Checks, golf with a cart, commemorative pin, and snacks to follow golf.
