Each event of the Women’s Charity Challenge features a woman who has made a contribution to society. Some will be well known and others somewhat obscure, but each important to all women.

Past Honorees include:
2008: Clara Barton,  Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony & Marie Curie
2009: Georgia O’Keefe, Amelia Earhart, Abigail Adams, Julia Child & Babe Zaharias

Scott Lake Country Club is excited to announce the fourth event of 2010 and we honor Sandra Day O’Connor. The first female member of the Supreme Court of the United States was appointed by Ronald Reagan in 1981. In spite of her accomplishments in law school, no law firm in California was willing to hire a women. She therefore turned to public service as a Deputy County Attorney, Assistant Attorney General for Arizona and State Senator.  Her years in public service made her a perfect fit for the Supreme Court and she was confirmed by the Senate by a vote of 99 to 0.
